Bunch of Coronation Grapes Best grapes ever... coronation grapes, very popular in Canada cause they're Canadian and available only in September. I love them, they remind me of that deep purple grape juice I drank as a kid. Here is a delicious smoothie recipe that tastes just like grape juice, but with way less sugar and way more good stuff. Grape Juice Smoothie Makes 2Ls 2 leaves organic purple kale 1 handful organic spinach OR bok choy 1/4 zucchini 1 organic fuji apple 2 big handfuls coronation grapes 4 cups filtered water 10 drops stevia (optional) Blend it up, drink it down. Check your teeth. Side note: If your roomie tells you their mother never let them have grape juice as a kid cause they spilled too much, that probably means they shouldn't have grape smoothie as an adult. Confirmed.

It's cottage season, fun times ahead which likely means a tumble off the wagon weekly for many. Listen it happens, but with just a little planning you can at least keep the greens flowing. I grabbed a few of these 2L mason jars from the local hardware store. They're perfect as it's 2 or 4 servings of smoothie which will take you through the weekend. And keeps you from messing with the crappy immersion blender at the cottage... that thing won't touch kale, I've tried. The Weekender makes 2L 2 huge handfuls of spinach 1/2 avocado 1 whole lemon, peeled 1 gala OR fuji apple 1 ripe pear 1 tbsp chia 4 cups water Blend smooth! Consider making two batches to share with friends, always be spreading the blended veg love.

Green Goods By special request for Asil here is a visual recipe for those of you still trying to figure out your quantities. This is one of the goodies favourites. Green Goods Smoothie Handful organic spinach 2 sprigs flat OR curly parsley 1 stalk organic celery 1 organic pear 1 organic fuji apple 2 tbsp hemp hearts 1 date, pitted (optional) 4 cups filtered water Blend until smooth, should make two servings. We like adding hemp to our smoothies at THE GOODS, 2 tablespoons has up to 11g of protein, and we all know plant protein is where it's at right!

Snow Day Snow day!!!! Hopefully you're all tucked in nice and warm at home. If you haven't had a smoothie today this one is delicious. I usually try to stick to two pieces of fruit but what the heck! Snow Day Sunshine Smoothie  handful spinach 2 leaves kale 1 smallish carrot 3 small apples 2 tbsp hemp 1 piece of ginger (end of your baby finger in size) 4 cups filtered water Blend it smooth. Makes 2Ls, I store half in a mason jar for the next day. Good one Asil, and thanks for the photo.

photo cred Cat Spinach may be scarce these days but beets ain't.  And you know I love me a beet or two (or five or six).  Personally, beets have always been a bit tricky in the smoothie department.  I don't know how Lisa manages to make her Red-Green smoothies taste so damn good but clearly I have not mastered the fine art yet, or have I?????? Enter the cooked beet. I had a few leftover from the day before so chucked them in. Wow, amazing beety goodness. So unless you have Lisa making your smoothies everyday, try this as an alternative. The Beet Beat Smoothie 4 cups filtered water 2 lg handful of org. mixed greens 1 -2 cooked org. beets 1 org. apple 1 org. banana 1/2 org. zucchini 2 tbsp hemp hearts Blend until smooth - Yields 1.5 liters. And don't forget to save some in a bowl for the babies (just add some organic baby cereal to it).
