Oh chia, we remember it as kids but who thought it would be all the rage again as adults. I first heard about eating chia seeds in
Born to Run, amazing book especially in audio format... I was super intrigued by its history as a staple food for running tribes but it took me some time to figure out how to use it properly as it's a bit... weird?
It's a low cal, high energy food with quality omegas and protein. Plus it expands about 9x the size when added to water which makes it filling. This is the reason we use it in so many recipes, not only is it good for you, but it fills you up and makes a great cream substitute due to the jelling quality.
I use it to thicken some of our dressings for
delivery too. Easy, healthy choice!
