The holidays, oh god snacky things all over the office, you can't help yourself. Dinners, pot-lucks, drinks, parties, weird holiday sweater events, all spilling over with food. So much food! You'll go mad guilting over ever morsel that hits your lips, so focus on the good food when responsible for yourself. You know in the morning before work, or durning your lunch. If you eat well two meals a day that's 60% of your diet and a lot of veggies. So what to make.... obviously a daily green smoothie, this will up your intake of leafy greens, raw veggies and fruits this month and prove key to floating happily through the holidays. And if you haven't done the green smoothie thing, it's time. Keep with clean, real food. There will be plenty of opportunities for indulgent meals and treats. When making eats for yourself use whole foods and eliminate the dairy, meat, refined flours, sugars and processed packaged stuff. That kind of food* multiple times a day weighs your mind and body down... lighten up with plants as often as possible. Recipe ideas... click here. * in this case I use the word loosely....

Gosi's Bottom Tending to Jim the Dog I'm going to have to eat it in this post. My bestie has been bugging me to try Pilates for YEARS and I resisted, I resisted hard. Even after watching her tighten up top to bottom I just wouldn't budge. But now...well now I'm obsessed. I can't stop going. I can't stop thinking about going, I love it. The results are quick, you feel strong, you feel firm and the progress you make in class is tangible and in turn motivating. I'm hesitant to tell you where we've been going for fear of everyone finding out and the place becoming overrun. But I must as Misfits is truly a gem, a little getaway where you can hide for an hour. And the ladies at the studio know what they're doing, I mean they're practically handing out custom asses. Basically what I'm saying is, Gosi I'm sorry you were right, I love Pilates just like you said. You are the silent puppeteer, flitting around backstage with your sneaky little noodle fingers setting everything right... and sometimes left. Now I'm going to have to make up for lost time and give you a run for your booty money. Thanks for sticking with me bitch!

Photo cred Cat I woke up this morning and had my blog entry all written in my mind.  Simmah had inspired me to write about the magic of grinding your own herbs (an entry I will write this week) but I was totally distracted by an equally inspiring text message from Lisa.  It said: "How was your smoothie?" Now to give you a little context, I've been feeling rather exhausted, lazy and uninspired as of late. So what was the first thing to go?  Answer: My daily smoothie.  Admittedly, the worst thing to go as it's my essential fuel for the day. There I was, last night, lamenting about my general malaise to Lisa and she verbally kicked my ass into gear and told me to make a damn smoothie already. That brings us to this morning. I did just that - I made my smoothie and I'm buzzing - quite literally.  My point is you need friends/family that understand and support you.  Not everyone does understand my want to eat cleaner but Lisa does and she's always there with words of encouragement when I need them.  Thanks Lisa - I love you Biz. So if you don't have like-minded friends and family shoot us an email and we, THE GOODS will be there for you.
