We're pretty excited, we had the lovely ladies in from The Coveteur and they were just so darn nice and sweet that we decided we should share five of our lunch recipes with them. What's so great about these recipes, other than the fact that there are delicious raw, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free and low-glycemic options.... they are also super easy to prepare, you don't even need a blender for three of them AND they each make four days worth of lunches. Get yourself organized Sunday night and you'll have lunch Monday through Thursday. Smart. Here's a challenge, over the next five weeks make one salad each week and let us know how great you feel after eating the Goods daily... and how jealous your work mates are over your beautiful lunches and glowing skin.

Photo cred Cat Oh I love hummus. Hummus, hummus, hummus.  I just learned a few things about this original prepared food. First of all, hummus is the Arabic word "chickpea". And if you go back to Socrates and Plato days, you'll find that they even wrote about it cause the shit is so damn good. Good for you with all its iron, vitamin C & B6, fiber, protein and potassium. I have to say it's perfection and it is (and always has been my desert island food - you know that game of "if you were stranded on an island with one thing what would it be?"). We introduced a new salad today, the Baouleh Baouleh and it came with a creamy hummus dressing. Hummus combined into a salad dressing? I'm in heaven. So here's the recipe for all you other hummus lovers out there. 2 cup cooked chickpeas 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 tbsp tahini 2 garlic cloves 1/2 tsp mineral salt 2 tbsp olive oil Blend'er up & enjoy.

Elaina Love Gazpacho Soup Hey hey! THE GOODS is taking next week off! Well we're stepping away from our usual duties for a few days to take care of a growing To-Do List. Exciting to switch up our routine nonetheless. On that note, why not try this recipe! A fantastic summer soup from Elaina Love, my dear teacher, magic worker and raw chef extraordinaire. She posted it on her Facebook page yesterday.  Raw Gazpacho Soup 4-6 medium to large ripe tomatoes, purée in blender 1 large tomato, dice 1 medium stalk celery, dice ½ cucumber, peel, seed, dice ¼ red bell pepper, dice 4 radishes, thinly slice 1 green onion, thinly slice 1-2 tbsp parsley, mince 4 tsp lemon juice 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil 1 clove of garlic, mince Mineral salt or to taste Cayenne pepper to taste Avocado (optional) Cilantro (optional) Blend only the first 4-6 tomatoes until smooth. In a bowl, combine the rest of the chopped veggies and spices including the blended tomatoes. Cover and chill for an hour or more, it tastes even more amazing the next day. Prior to serving, top each bowl with 2 tbsp chopped avocados and a bit of cilantro if you like.  I will be eating this all next week. See you September 9... the new menu has been posted if you wanna place your order.

photo cred Cat What the f*** am I going to eat for dinner? I don't want anything heavy or complicated but I want it healthy. Oh I'll have an omelette but I only have 1 beautiful organic egg... BUT I do have the following in my fridge (thank you MamaEarthOrganics): Asparagus and spinach. And there you have it. So damn delish, it may be my new go-to. Oh and little one sat on my lap and popped the asparagus bits in her mouth while I ate. Riiiiight? All you need: 1 organic/local egg Organic Asparagus diced - as much as you'd like Organic Spinach - handful Pink Himalayan salt - dash Fry up the asparagus for 5 mins, then add spinach for the last minute then crack an egg on top and mix it all up until the egg is cooked. Slap it on a plate and sprinkle with Himalayan salt. Easy-peasy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Blue_Monday_95.jpg Did you know that it was Blue Monday today (cue amazing New Order song).  Apparently the third Monday of January is known to be the most depressing day of the year.  You know what I think about that?  Balls (as my dear Steph likes to say).  Pure and simple. Actually, if you do your research you'll find it's all a marketing gimmick from a 2005 publicity campaign for the TV programme Sky Travel. There is also an equation someone arrived at to pinpoint which exact date it is, as it varies from year to year.  Yeah, whateves. So whether you believe the hype or not, I'll give you something to believe in.  Smoothie Mondays.  And the amazing thing is that it happens every Monday, not just once a year.  Here's my equation: 2 cups water 1 cup mix greens 1/2 small zuc 1 pear 1 large date 1 tbsp hemp heart Ingredients + blender + love = Happy Monday....every time.
