Let's talk probiotics. Did you know that it means "For life", as opposed to Antibiotics which mean "against life"? This sh*t is soooo good for you. Probiotics are essential to basic human nutrition. They are live microorganisms (in most cases, bacteria) that are similar to the beneficial microorganisms naturally found in the human gut. These “good bacteria” are used to prevent and alleviate many different conditions. Where can you find good probiotics? In fermented foods like miso, kimchi, sauerkraut and kombucha. Another option is in supplement format via fridges in any good health store. Oh yes, don't be fooled by the easy pill format on the shelf. These puppies have to be 'live' to be effective so only get ones that need to be refrigerated. N.b. Ditch the greek yogurt for your probiotic intake, the stuff is so toxic to our environment it far outweighs any good it does in your body.

Ok so this my last fiber push of the season (pun intended). This time of year is so hard with all the holiday parties and extra indulgences at work. They are hard to resist but shit's everywhere. And do you know what all the sugar does to your system? It f***s it up. You get bloated, feel gross and things are not as regular as they normally are. You know what the easy fix is? G*d damn fiber. And the best part? It too, is everywhere. So get it in you fast and often. It probably will fill you up and you may not be so tempted. Double win, double rainbow. Oh, and for the love humanity, drink as much water as possible. We have a special shout-out to Send it and Goodfoot who fearlessly deliver your lunches everyday without question, with a smile and regardless the weather conditions - today is no exception. We love you guys!

Two very important things we need to discuss: 1. How gorgeous is this pH spectrum? (it's a rhetorical question cause who doesn't love anything rainbow inspired). 2. Your body's pH is serious b-to-the-isnass. You keep it in the 'acidic' range and yo body be eff'd up. Keep it in the alkaline range and it'll be jumping for joy. It's really that easy.
Let's talk pH balance in the body. pH stands for power of hydrogen, which is a measurement of the hydrogen ion concentration in the body. The total pH scale ranges from 1 to 14, with 7 considered to be neutral. A pH less than 7 is said to be acidic and greater than 7 is basic or alkaline. Our body's ideal pH is slightly alkaline - 7.30 to 7.45.
Did you know that you can literally rebuild your body and mind and even cure degenerative conditions just by shifting your body's pH from acidic to alkaline. So trash all that terrible processed food (acidic) and opt for the fabulous fruits and vegetables (alkaline). First time in your life that dropping acid is legal and encouraged.
Let's do a 1-week challenge of avoiding everything listed in 3. 3 is bad. Nobody even likes the number 3.

Photo Cred Lisa It's been a gorgeous, sunny weekend and I can hear that blasted ice cream truck doing its lap around the neighbourhood. Peachsicle, Orangesicle OR Whateveryouwantsicle 2 cups nut milk 3 ripe peaches OR 2 med oranges 15 drops stevia 5 drops vanilla 1/2 tsp ground vanilla pods (optional but good) 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tray of ice, more or less Blend all ingredients adding ice one cube at a time until desired thickness. Play around, add nutrient dense superfoods like cacao and a bit of maca for a richer, chocolatey flavour. Cinnamon is said to lower blood sugar, which balances the fruit sugars and stevia sweetens without increasing the glycemic index of the treat! Win win, everybody's happy... except the driver of the ice cream truck.
