Be Well Unlikely Co.

FullSizeRender 7

It was a pleasure to host Unlikely Co. in our kitchen, we chatted all things food, I swore a lot… and we cooked up one hell of a healing soup.

Trilby Tanner and Cherie Tsang are the creators of Unlikely Co. They believe there are those who do what they love for a living and those who work so they can do what they love. What’s most important is knowing what moves you. And if you don’t? They can help.

Unlikely Co. was created out of the desire to find an answer to the question above. Committed to shaking up the daily routine by trying their hand at new experiences with Toronto’s local creatives, makers and innovators.

Check out the interview from their evening at the Goods, we’re sharing our new Be Well Superfood Soup recipe, so get in there.

Real Food

travel

This was a fun interview with Jim the creator of Travel Mammal, it was a single question – What does food mean to you?

“Whether we’ve truly made the connection between food and our well being doesn’t matter; what we eat affects us the same regardless of our awareness.”  Lisa Labute

For my full answer, check out the interview and have a look around the site, there is lots of wonderful content about travel, food, culture and experience.

I had a surprise invite from Jessica, creator of Pure Transformations, to write a little piece for her blog. Jess is featuring members of our community who help Torontonians live healthier lives.

Obviously I was into it and happy to have a little place on her great blog. Jessica is a wonderful fitness motivator and shares her passion for replacing fitness industry myths with real information that works.

Look Ma, We’re On Tv

We’re veeery excited to announce that THE Kim D’Eon has launched her shiny new food web series, Eat Some Good, this week in partnership with NOW Toronto Online.

And the Goods was featured in the first episode!

It was amazing having Kim in our kitchen, not only are her high vibes always welcome, she’s a strong driven woman, using her TV powers for good… and you know we love when humans use their smarts, experience and passions for the better.

After spending many years in entertainment television Kim went back to school to become a holistic nutritionist and now combines her experience with her love for wellness. Educating Toronto on how to eat clean both at home, through her informative blog and out in the city with her web series.

We feel blessed everyday to be part of this movement. We believe food is at the root of everything, the more we nourish ourselves the more we nourish our community and future generations.

BIG Love

I’ve been having a serious love affair with MISFIT for over 7 months, and it keeps getting better. The 31 Day Challenge ended two weeks ago and I feel great. So strong… and maybe a little more superhuman than usual. A lot clicked over the month, regarding my form and flow. Spending so much time with their amazing instructors made all the difference. I managed 31 classes in 31 days and even made MISFIT of the Month, obviously I love that shit!

At this point my Pilates/yoga session is as much part of my day as my green smoothie and the combination of the two is incredibly transformative. I highly recommend this to everyone, especially you restless souls seeking change. The cold weather and early evenings are upon us so it’s extra important to take care of your body, mind and spirit.

Seriously kids, have I ever lead you astray? Give it a go, intro pass at the studio is $45 unlimited mat and THE GOODS has a pickup fridge in the MISFIT lounge. Win win!

THE GOODS wants each and every one of you to learn how to make your own green smoothies, we’ll have classes in 2014 but in the meantime check our delicious recipes.

The best part…. MISFITSTUDIO is an incredible yoga and pilates space, a reprieve from crazy life. Grab a mat, flow between movements to amazing music as lead by some inspiring and beautiful people. The open air, sunny studio in the heart of Queen West makes you feel like you’re anywhere but here while strengthening and tightening your entire body.

I love this place, it’s been saving me for a few months now. So you can imagine how excited I am to be sharing THE GOODS through them.
