I love grocery shopping in different cities because you get to see different things.  I fell upon the cereal isle and was amaze at what I found.  Now as some of you might know I make my own cereal, Magic Muesli, which is a go-to, pretty much every day.  I make a huge batch and both my husband add some fresh fruit and Bob's your uncle. But I do appreciate that not everyone has time to make their own cereal, let alone want to, so let me introduce "Holy Crap" - a product made popular by Dragon's Den.  It's pretty fantastic and it's made in Canada which is a total plus. It has everything you need to start your engine running in the am but also makes a great snack cause it's filling (and don't forget to drink a glass of water after). So that coupled with a gorge green smoothie for lunch, that's a 2 no-brainer meal solution. Works for me. p.s. My husband likes my muesli better, but he may be biased.

photo cred Cat I usually start my day with Auds declaring her hunger, immediately followed by can she watch TV and/or eat candy? The answer is usually a resounding NO but one thing she does get (and to this day still believes it belongs to the "treat" category) is a green popsicle (a.k.a. IcePop).  Easy to make and delivers fruit and veg and other lovely ingredients. Making your own does let you control the sugar and other potential not-so-good fillers that come with store-bought smoothies. The measurements below either fills up an icecube tray or a popsicle mold. Since the liquid is quite thick already, you can place toothpicks (I use three) in the centre without having to wait until the juice sets. Here is a recipe for a kid's beginner smoothie/popsicle. Gradually over time I will add kale and other lovely greens. Berry Fairy Popsicle 1 1/2 cups fresh pinapple juice 2 Ontario peaches 1 avocado 3 tbsp ground flax seed (Costco) 1 cup frozen organic blueberries (Costco) 1 cup local raspberries 1 cup 0% Greek yogurt 1 tbsp raw local honey 1 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed Blend, pour, freeze and enjoy!

Hands down my favourite recipe for popcorn, the GF introduced me to the dried dill and olive oil toppings and I haven't had it any other way since. Homemade popcorn can be a healthy and tasty snack, especially good to have on hand if you're transitioning from a crappy diet to a whole/real foods diet. Dilly Kaz Corn 1/4 cup organic popping corn 1 tbsp cold pressed olive oil 1 tbsp flax oil Himalayan pink salt Fresh ground pepper Dried dill Pop organic popping corn using an air popper, the stove top or a paper bag in the microwave, check it. Top with oil, salt, pepper and LOTS of freshly dried dill. It's really important that you use organic popping corn. Corn is a dirty, dirty crop that's been GMO'd up the wazoo. If you're trying to get healthy, eating poor quality ingredients isn't going to get you there.
