Hey yooo! Wanna play a little game? Below are 4 truths and 1 lie... #1 - It's the Goods' 3rd birthday and Guy Fawkes Day. #2 - Cat Parker's 16 x great grandfather was one of the ring leaders in Guy Fawkes' posse. #3 - We designed those innovative graphics on our own, without the help of a single professional. #4 - We're going to think this blog post is ten times funnier than you ever will.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U2VJbvXDTU We're veeery excited to announce that THE Kim D'Eon has launched her shiny new food web series, Eat Some Good, this week in partnership with NOW Toronto Online. And the Goods was featured in the first episode! It was amazing having Kim in our kitchen, not only are her high vibes always welcome, she's a strong driven woman, using her TV powers for good... and you know we love when humans use their smarts, experience and passions for the better. After spending many years in entertainment television Kim went back to school to become a holistic nutritionist and now combines her experience with her love for wellness. Educating Toronto on how to eat clean both at home, through her informative blog and out in the city with her web series. We feel blessed everyday to be part of this movement. We believe food is at the root of everything, the more we nourish ourselves the more we nourish our community and future generations.

Let's discuss fiber shall we? Did you know that most people need upwards of 32 grams of fiber a day? And quite frankly, we just don't eat enough with a typical Western diet.Fiber plays an essential role in your digestive, heart, and skin health, and may even improve blood sugar control and weight management. Loads of things are full of fiber but if you want the best (like the Dom Perignon of fibers) go for vegetables, nuts, and seeds as they are the most healthful source.
Why care about fiber? "If we don’t eat enough soluble fiber, our bile, instead of being ushered out of the body and then replaced with fresh bile produced by the liver, is repeatedly recirculated in our system. In the process, it becomes more concentrated with toxins, which, in turn, can lead to all sorts of inflammatory diseases such as gallbladder disease, intestinal inflammation, and even skin conditions like acne, eczema and psoriasis."  Wait what? Ewwwwwwww.
And this is why we're all about full blend juices, by not extracting the fiber from your smoothie you get all the good stuff... lots of magic smoothie recipes here.

It's been way too long since our last blog love-in, you know we're fans of a good online snuggle. Catharine "Cat" Parker, we are proud of her. We wouldn't be the Goods if not for this wonder mother and wife, friend and partner, inspired business woman and entrepreneur. She's an example of believing in and working towards the things that make you happy, the work and life that fulfils you. Expect big things from Cat, she's officially full-time at the Goods, stepping comfortably into the next stage of her career. Writing and orchestrating with so much humour and excitement it brings an electric quality to our days. We love her. Walkabout Parker, walkabout.
