Making raw vegan milk at home is so simple, I suggest everyone give it a try as it’s one of those really liberating raw food techniques that easily expands your repertoire.
Start with something simple like chia milk since the seeds only need to soak for 15 minutes, or hemp seeds which don’t need any soaking.
Nut and Seed Milks
1 cup raw nuts OR seeds
4 cups filtered water
vanilla and stevia to taste (optional)
Rinse the nuts and soak overnight if necessary, see soaking chart. Blend the nuts with the 4 cups of water (more or less for desired creaminess) until smooth, strain through a nut milk bag* and you’re done! Pretty must the same deal as blender juicing.
*shhhh I’ve even used a clean nylon stocking in a pinch.
