Insteada’

Insteada

Here’s a recipe that’s popular with the agency kids, like Teres who can’t get enough of it! I don’t blame her, it’s delicious and a real pick me up first thing in the morning.

I recommend having it cold, but using warm/hot water works too. It’s packed with amazing nutrient dense, high energy super foods so probably not the best snack before bed.

Insteada’ Coffee
Serves 2

1 cup of filtered water
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp raw cacao powder
3 tbsp coconut sugar
1 tsp maca
1/2 tsp cinnamon
dash cayenne
dash Himalayan pink salt

4-6 cubes of ice OR 1 cup hot water

Place all ingredients in blender and blend on high until smooth. Add ice OR hot water, blend to desired consistency. Allowing the chia seeds to soak for 15 minutes before blending will provide a silky smoothie texture.

Ooh, good one!

Try it, sooo yummy! xoxo

It’s brilliant. And I’m seriously addicted.

This looks really good. Just have to get some maca.

This was so amazing yesterday!! I feel like it’ll always be better when you guys make it and send it in a cute bottle but I’m definitely going to attempt it.

Isn’t that always the way! Lucky for us.

Very tasty! I found it to be very grainy in texture though. Do you have any tricks to make it thicker or smoother?

Hi! A high speed blender helps and if you’re already using one, soaking the chia overnight or for at least 20 minutes will allow it to blend more smoothly. Let me know how it goes.

You can also grind the chia seeds beforehand in a coffee or spice grinder. I usually grind a medium amount and keep it an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week to use in my smoothies.

i have to tell you guys how much I enjoyed your delivery service to the One of A Kind Show this year. I have returned home to Ottawa, bought spiralizer, my husband and I are enjoying salads every night!! (we take weekends off) we still eat the odd piece of roasted chicken or steak, we like our buns and cheese, we both eat dairy, meat and nuts, but you have changed the way we eat forever and we both feel great!! I am just now enjoying my first home made insteada!!!! Cant wait to see you at the Spring show!!

Margi! This is the best news ever, I’m so happy to hear the Goods had such an impact. And really all we want is people to include some really good stuff in your diet and that sounds like that’s exactly what you’re doing. Hope to see you at the Spring show and if not Christmas 2015 it is. Thanks for the great feedback.
